the lamp draws inspiration from the iconic design of achille castiglioni, which uses counterweight to allow for a pronounced arc. instead of sculpted marble, its base is formed by joining cylinders repurposed from the mineral extraction process — known as “core samples” — which are taken from within the raw stone.

the sculptural and organic shape of the arc is the result of careful development based on calculations of tension, material deformation, and weight balance.
