this table was originally designed to meet a specific need: to display a set of ceramic lamps at the sp arte/design fair. it required a central base and a channel in the tabletop to discreetly route all the wires. the base, featuring two intersecting planes, turned out so beautifully that we decided to explore other shapes and heights — round, square, rectangular, oval — leading to new uses: dining table, desk, or coffee table for the living room, with optional hidden cable routing and/or a rotating centerpiece.
