muca, like the belterra table, was created for the complex surrounding the amazon science museum (MuCA), located in namericana, pará. however, this piece was developed for the first phase of the project – specifically for the museum itself. revitalized and expanded, the architectural complex, originally from the 1930s, now houses an innovative museum dedicated to biodiversity and the bioeconomy. the entire surrounding project – which includes a hotel, restaurant, and guesthouse still under development – is signed by studio arthur casas. the architect designed a line of products that are easy to produce and could be manufactured locally, as part of MuCA’s workforce training program.
made entirely of wood, the muca line is the pilot project developed by the local carpentry workshop.
