The inspiration for the armchair came from the lifestyle in Jose Ignacio, originally a fishing village in Uruguay. Despite becoming a luxury destination, the place still carries the essence of its origins, which made it attractive: valuing a simple and unpretentious daily life. The sensation provided by the Jose Ignacio armchair is like sinking into a hammock. It was created for Arthur Casas’ rural house in the interior of São Paulo.
Designed for outdoor areas, the piece is crafted from 30-year-old teak wood or cumaru, both treated to withstand the elements. Stainless steel, also resistant to weather variations, is used for the joints, ensuring stability. The aqua-colored fabric provides the swinging motion. It is handwoven using an Italian technique, with high-quality plastic composite threads treated with UV protection to prevent fading when exposed to sunlight. The fabric also has low elasticity, meaning minimal deformation occurs with use.
